LOOKING to raise your LP playback to another level – how about upgrading your tonearm cable? Furutech has just the thing for you – the specialist cable maker from Japan has introduced its Project V1-T.
A culmination of the brand’s three decades of research into all aspects of power and signal transmission for high-end audio applications, the Project series features Furutech’s proprietary technologies and patented designs that use prime construction materials.
“Every element of signal transfer must be perfectly engineered to avoid distortion. Phono cartridge output is vanishingly small and all too easily polluted by RFI and EMI, so it’s vital to ensure that this low-level signal isn’t swamped by a veritable soup of noisy distortion right from the source,” Furutech enlightens us.
The V1-T achieves its “remarkably quiet soundstage and transparent presentation” through the use of a trio of hybrid silver OCC conductors with four-layer shielding and detachable external ground wire. The conductors are treated with Furutech’s trademark Alpha process, a two-stage cryogenic and demagnetisation treatment designed to take purity and conductivity a significant step further.
“It also features a specially engineered cable clamp to improve grip and thus avoid any potential distortion. To further enhance sound reproduction, the cable incorporates Furutech’s own NCF (Nano Crystal2 Formula) technology, designed to deliver excellent damping properties and eliminate noise and interference, ensuring that you experience a truly immersive and lifelike audio performance.”
The V1-T’s main features also include audio-grade SR-PVC and nitrogen-injected skin-foam-skin polyethylene insulation/dielectric; four-way grounding and external ground wire; three-layer shielding for improved noise insulation; audio-grade sheath incorporating damping carbon particles; high-grade damping polypropylene braid inner layer, and double layer audio grade nylon outer sleeve.
A 1.5m pair is retailing for $4,500.
We do have these now playing on a CS Port AFU1 linear tracking arm. Come hear the magic!
