Bricasti Design recently introduced the M11 digital-to-analog converter. This device works based on a 20-bit ladder D/A circuit of the R-2R type. This new model offers “an unparalleled scale of realism in the music being played.”
Bricasti notes that the new DAC is “inspired” by the flagship M21 model and the solutions implemented in it. It is based on the MDx platform.
This conversion method offers a different sound character than the D/A converters built into the M1 , M3 or M12 models , which are appreciated by many audio enthusiasts. The proprietary MDx processor provides exceptional clock accuracy, minimizes jitter, maximizes the quality of processing via USB inputs (supports up to DSD256) and offers an optional Ethernet input, as a result of which the sound is taken to a completely new level of precision.
The device is a dual mono design. The hand-made, milled solid aluminum housing houses three transformers and two mono boards, each with a dedicated linear power supply, D/A converter, reference clock, and analog circuits. The whole unit is mounted on Stillpoints anti-vibration feet designed and optimized for this particular design.
The Bricasti M11 (similarly to the M1 model) is offered in two versions: the standard M11 and the M11 S2 (Series II) equipped with an expanded power supply system and a larger housing. In addition, the device can be supplemented with two additional modules – file transport and I 2 S input.
The optional file transport (Roon Ready) is designed to integrate seamlessly with high-end servers, ensuring the best possible streaming performance. The I 2 S output module enables perfect synergy with the M19 SACD/CD transport to enjoy detailed high-resolution digital signal playback.
The Bricasti Design M11 digital-to-analog converter is now available.
